Detective's Desk

The detective's Desk | This artwork was inspired by a novel i was reading , Lord Of Mysteries written by CuttleFish , set in alternate Victorian- Steampunk Era.

The character Klien Moretti disguises himself as Sherlock Moriarty a private detective in volume 2. I was always interested in Victorian Era style and while reading the novel, it inspired me to make this scene. There are many easter eggs related to the story like the Letter written at volume 8, cards of blasphemy shown as tarot cards, or the glove and many small things such as the research society name.

This Scene was mostly modelled by me except for some small assets like letters, maps and a few pens as i was filling the scene with them. Everything rest was modelled in Maya 3d, then taken in Substance Painter for texturing. It was rendered in Arnold, Composited in Nuke and Color graded in DaVinci. Everything took almost 2 months including rendering. This was also my first time learning Nuke, and I had lot of fun learning it and pushing my comp skills.
